Building a stronger Saboba through community-driven development.
The SDCF Story
Planting seeds of resilience, harvesting hope for generations.
Saboba District Community Foundation was established through extensive community dialogue and shared vision to promote philanthropy, leadership and grant making. It is a district-wide community foundation registered in 2021 with the registration number CG207360821, formed and managed by the people of Saboba. It has an open membership for both present, past, and future residents. Through collaboration with traditional leaders, community groups, and development partners, the Foundation supports practical initiatives that improve living standards and promote long-term progress. SDCF remains dedicated to nurturing local leadership, mobilizing community resources, and building systems that enable Saboba to thrive with confidence and dignity
Building Saboba Together
SDCF was born out of a simple yet powerful belief: communities thrive best when they take ownership of their own development. For far too long, many rural communities, including Saboba, have relied heavily on external aid to address pressing social and economic challenges. While such support has been valuable, it often comes with limitations, leaving communities vulnerable when the aid cycle ends. Recognizing this, the people of Saboba embraced the concept of a community-owned foundation—a platform where local resources, knowledge, leadership, and collective action converge to drive long-term transformation.
Our Mission
Our Vision
How We Serve
The Foundation remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening collaborations within the community, and driving impact across generations.
Promotion of Local Philanthropy
Saboba District Community Foundation promotes a vibrant culture of giving rooted in community solidarity. We encourage residents, diaspora groups, and institutions to contribute time, expertise, and resources toward projects that create lasting impact.
Capacity Building & Training
We strengthen the skills and capacities of local organizations, schools, and youth associations. Our trainings focus on leadership, project management, resource mobilization, and accountability, enabling communities to design and manage their own initiatives effectively.
Endowment Building
SDCF ensures that even beyond project cycles and donor timelines, the Foundation can continue to invest in the district’s future. Therefore 10% of all unrestricted donations are invested into the community endownment fund. Returns from the fund are prudently managed and reinvested into community initiatives.
Resource Mobilization & Fundraising
We design and manage innovative fundraising initiatives that bring together individuals, organizations, and partners to support locally driven development. We ensure that every contribution directly benefits community priorities across the Saboba District.
