Board Chairman of the Tema Oil Refinery
Nayon Bilijo is a distinguished Ghanaian politician agriculturalist, and Forestry Consultant with extensive experience in public service, governance, and resource management. He currently serves as the Board Chairman of the Tema Oil Refinery (ToR), bringing a wealth of leadership and administrative expertise to Ghana’s energy sector.
Mr. Bilijo is a former Member of Parliament of the third parliament for the Saboba Constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana.
He is a former minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development. He was appointed Deputy Minister for Lands and Forestry in 1996. He served on the Foreign Affairs as well as Lands and Forestry Committees.
Beyond politics, Mr. Bilijo has held several important professional positions in both the public and private sectors. He worked with the Agricultural Development Bank of Ghana for ten years focusing on agricultural finance and rural development in 1990; he joined the Internal Revenue Service and worked at the Office of Revenue Commissioners, where he gained valuable experience in public finance and administration. He also worked for the Clark Sustainable Resource Development Limited as the Director, applying his expertise in sustainable natural resource management.
He worked with the Upper Region Agricultural Development Programme (URADEP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Upper West Commerce Association at Wa, contributing to agricultural development and local economic growth.
